Busy Busy Busy

Life has been busy here this week, Aliya got to meet her grandma Sylvia from FL on Monday night and spend a few days bonding with her!! Aliya took to her right away and loved being wrapped up in a blanket with grandma! She also loved grandma getting up with her in the middle of the night so that mommy and daddy could sleep!!! (we liked it too!) Grandma's visit was way too short, but I am so glad she got up here for a few days to meet Aliya. We will see her (and papaw Tom) in June again!

Here's a quick update on Aliya: She is sleeping better still at night, if she gets her last bottle and is in bed around 11pm she sleeps until 4:45am!!! I'm loving that! She is smiling all the time now and is most happy in the mornings. She loves to stand up on our laps, sitting is no longer an option while she is awake! She loves spending time with Aunt Leigh Ann during the day and is tolerating her bouncy seat a little more each day. She's gaining weight, I can't wait to see how much she weights at her next appointment!!! She is out growing her 0-3 month clothes with the feet attached. She can still wear her newborn onesee's (that's not spelled right) but they are starting to get tight. Oh, and the biggest thing, she found her thumb. Her left one. She is also blowing spit bubbles already and is constantly drooling (I think because she's always looking for her thumb). She is still amazing!

Working this weekend

Well folks, here I sit at work again this weekend. On of my co-workers had a death in the family yesterday and needed to leave town. I don't mind working for her under the circumstances. It just stinks all the way around. Fortunately I did get to go to Joel's last basketball game yesterday then out to lunch with his team for his trophy ceremony. He had a great season 4-4, not bad for his first time ever playing the sport! The coach was very impressed with his skills. Jon has been asked to be the assistant coach for Joel's baseball team this summer, and Joel is signing up for football for next year. My life is officially no longer my own! With him now involved in everything and a 10 week old baby, and a job with an on call pager 24/7...I might just go crazy! But I am loving every minute of it!!!

Growth Spurt?

I think Aliya is hitting a growth spurt. She is sleeping all the time and eating more and more! Last night she slept from 8:30p-11p, we got her up to eat, put her back to bed at 11:30p and she slept till 4:45a. Back to bed at 5a and had to be waken up at 7:30a to leave for the sitter's.

She is laughing now, mostly at Jon and she is smiling all the time! I really need to get a camera that has a video function on it so I can share some of her cute moments.

Family Fun

This weekend we went up to my parent's in BG for a family weekend. Saturday night we celebrated Feb. birthdays and relaxed and played with the kids. Joel finally got to meet Allison his youngest cousin. She is so cute!!! Isaac is talking up a storm and kept refering to Joel as "boy", it was so funny! Heather, AJ and Izzy came over for a visit and to meet Aliya too. This afternoon my mom and sisters hosted a baby shower/open house for us! It was so fun! Great food, friends and gifts! We are so blessed!!! Pictures will be following soon!!

Not A Happy Camper!

Today we had Aliya's 8 week appointment. She now weighs 11 lbs 2 oz and is still 21" long. She got four shots in her little legs, two in each. She screamed so hard I burst into tears! She took it like a champ though and was quickly scooped up by daddy and taken home to sleep it off and cuddle all day. The doctor said she's perfect! I still agree!

Happy Birthday Jon!

Today is Jon's birthday! He is 34 today!! He gets to spend his day with his daughter and after school I will pick Joel up and we will do something special as a family!!

It just keeps getting better!

Jon is now home from work on his leave and yesterday was my first full day back to work. It was so hard to leave her all day! We went to small group last night and were showered with love and kisses (Aliya was, not me). So many people have been praying for us over the past three years and especually during these past 7 months. So we got home pretty late last night and after Joel went to bed we put a movie in. We were both (Jon and I) asleep within 10 minutes. Aliya woke up wanting a midnight snack before we ventured up to bed. Here is where it gets good...she slept until 5am!!!! Woke up for a 2oz snack then back to bed until 7am!!! That's when Jon took over and she had some cuddle time with daddy! Joel is still loving her, I'm sure the her newness will wear off soon, but I'll take it while we got it! He has a basketball game at 1pm today then Aliya and I have a shower at my work. My residents are throwing us a party! Tomorrow after chruch we have our first set of professional pictures being taken!!! Hopefully we'll get some good ones to post and share!
