I had my first injection this afternoon. I have to admit, as shots go it was NOTHING! I had a great nurse and I didn't feel a thing!! I think I was still on a high from stepping on the scale, I lost a pound since my visit last week! My insurance has approved the injections for the full 6 months, so I hope this completely wipes out the Endo!! I also took the first "back pill" as they call it. I don't feel any side effects just yet, so we'll see how long they take to kick in! If I may, I think OBGYN's should offer more magazines in their waiting room than Pregnancy...I couldn't relate to ANY of the choices on the side table beside me. But if I ever need a breast pump or stretch mark cream I think I know where to do my reading about the products! I almost made a suggestion to the receptionist to order Adoptive Families Magazine. But I didn't. Maybe next month I'll say something.
On a side note, Aliya is spending the night with my parents up in BG tonight. It is her first overnight visit away from home without Jon or myself. I'm a bit freaked out to be honest. I know she will be fine, but her room is so empty without her. Jon and I are shooting an 8 hour (plus 2 hours of travel) wedding tomorrow so finding a sitter for ALL day, so she's up with mom and Mike. They will bring her home tomorrow late afternoon. I guess on a positive note, we'll get to sleep past 6:30a tomorrow AND she's getting some great bonding time with Mom and Mike (Aunt Cindy is there too!)

Friday
This Friday starts the first day of my new "post surgery plan". I will be given injections for 3-6 months (depends on how long insurance will cover) of a drug called Lupron. It is a med that will basically put me into menopause for the duration of the shots in order to stop my estrogen production. Endo feeds and grows in the body from the estrogen, SO get rid of the estrogen, get rid of the Endo. The doctor then wants me to go on birth control pills to maintain a low estrogen level in my body. I am choosing not to go on the pills, instead a friend of mine, who happens to also be a dietitian, is going to come up with a low estrogen diet for me. I have gone back and forth with the thought of being on the pill and have shed many tears this past week over all of this. I am done crying (at least for now) and am moving on.
So consider yourself forewarned. If I seem a bit "off" over the next few months, you now know why!

Asking for Prayer
I had my follow up appointment yesterday. It went well and we discussed my next step in post surgery treatment. I'm not going to spell it all out right now, as I don't feel like crying for the 10th time today. At this point I am just asking for prayer for understanding.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Update
There are a lot of things going on in this house right now.
Baseball season for Joel is underway. Meaning: We spend A LOT of time at the fields these days between practices and games 2-3 nights/days a week. Aliya loves to watch her brother play, she claps and cheers for him! It's super cute. I'm sure it bugs him while trying to concentrate, but he hasn't said anything about it yet, so we'll see. He is counting down the days until school is over, just over 5 weeks now!?!?! Can you believe it? He'll be in 6th grade! It doesn't seem possible.
Miss Aliya is two and all that comes with it. She is strong willed and independent. She is sweet one minute and screaming the next. There are nights when I can't wait for bedtime, she wears me out. She loves to "pay outside" as she calls it, and would spend every waking moment in the backyard if she could. Thankfully we have a fenced in yard, so she can come and go as she wants while I'm cooking dinner. She is getting so big and is in all 3T clothes now. Some pants are still a bit big in the waist and long in the length, but 2T's are too small. She FINALLY is in a 6 1/2-7 shoe depending on the style.
Jon's work is very busy right now! We were worried for a bit that business was dwindling, but they are making up for lost time now! He is super busy and loves it that way! Makes the day go faster!! Jon is also enjoying Joel's baseball schedule. He is not doing any coaching this year, so he can enjoy the game from the bleachers. :)
As for me, I went back to work Monday. I was glad to get back to my routine, but I could sure have taken another week off with no complaints! I go for my follow up appointment this morning, I am hopping for a good report. Work is good, not much to write about for that. Adoption is still REALLY on my heart right now. (No, I don't want another baby, if that's what you're thinking) There is just a very special place in my heart right now for waiting parents. I am getting more involved with a local hospital's Pre-Adoptive Parenting class! And we have our group that is meeting once a month. I don't know, I'm just really praying that God reveals His plan for me in this area.
Well, that's about it in this house. Oh yeah, Gracie. She RUNS and RUNS and RUNS the fence line all day long and then comes inside and sleeps! She is too funny to watch.

Second Meeting Tonight
We just got home from our second "While We Wait" group!!! The same three couples were in attendance tonight! We had a very honest open discussion on adopting outside of your race and the fears that comes along with that. We also touched a bit on openness. It was a wonderful night!!!
